NCC Latvia Showcases HPC Through Interactive Live Music Coding at Researchers’ Night 2026
NCC Latvia’s HPC stand attracted exceptional public interest during Researchers’ Night 2026, held in collaboration with the AIFA-LAT project and Riga Business School at Riga Technical University. Visitors had the opportunity to explore the latest developments in High-Performance Computing (HPC) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), meet the humanoid AI robot Aivars, and experience a unique live music coding performance in real time.
Throughout the evening, the HPC and AI stand remained a popular attraction, drawing a continuous flow of visitors interested in learning how supercomputing technologies support scientific research, innovation, and business development. Attendees were able to discover practical applications of HPC and AI while interacting directly with experts and technology demonstrations.
One of the highlights of the event was the live coding music performance, where music was created and programmed in real time. Visitors could simultaneously observe both the musical output and the coding process displayed on screen, providing an engaging introduction to the intersection of creativity, programming, and digital technologies.
Participants also learned about the opportunities offered through the EuroCC 3, AIFA-LAT, and PRACE initiatives, including access to supercomputing resources, support for AI development, and assistance for research and innovation projects.
The humanoid AI robot Aivars attracted significant attention throughout the event. Visitors actively engaged in conversations with the robot, took photographs, and explored the potential role of artificial intelligence in business and society.
The strong public response once again demonstrated the growing interest in digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and high-performance computing. NCC Latvia and its partners thank all Researchers’ Night participants for their enthusiasm and curiosity about the technologies shaping the future.
