The course “Introduction to high-performance computing technology CUDA” is offered in collaboration with RTU HPC center. The training covers the theoretical and practical principles of high-performance computing hardware and software architecture, computing algorithms, application libraries and tools, as well as applied interdisciplinary use of GPU-based parallel computing platform CUDA.
The course “Applied use of the high-performance computing technology CUDA” is offered in collaboration with RTU HPC center. The training covers the theoretical and practical principles of CUDA implementation on multiprocessor graphical systems and CUDA cloud computing possibilities in a remote server environment, in particular.
“MATLAB introductory course” is offered in collaboration with RTU HPC center. MATLAB is a high-level language and interactive environment for numerical computation, visualisation, and programming. The course covers basic language constructions, functions, scripts, data filtering and cross-section design, as well as shows relational operations, symbolic math, as well as data import and export.
During six lessons, you will learn to use the programming language MATLAB on the HPC cluster. We will look at parallel computing in order to divide the computing tasking different computing cores or computing processors both in terms of power and memory.
This course covers specific Matlab tools for the use of HPC or supercomputer.
The course “Introduction to SOLIDWORKS” is offered in collaboration with RTU HPC Center. The training course provides the basics of computer design using the SOLIDWORKS software that is used by the industry and higher education institutions and allows intuitive creation of product digital models that can be used in digital simulations, for visualization of new products, 3D prototypes, etc.
This course is a continuation for the “Introduction to MATLAB”, where information will be given on elementary math functions, linear algebra functions, as well as graphing questions and various optimization questions: minimization, in the case of one, multi-variable functions, substitution with an orthogonal function series and optimization problem formulation approach, etc.
Running MATLAB on HPC (Part 2)
This course is currently under development, and will supplement the course “MATLAB for the use of HPC”. The course is planned for Spring 2023. Further information will follow.
The training webinar covers theoretical and practical principles of creating Neural networks in MATLAB, and running training process on supercomputers, including running on GPU and running on parallel processors. Also, at the beginning of the seminar, some questions related to sending MATLAB tasks to HPC will be covered. Some general information about the ability to run MATLAB functions on a multiprocessor environment will be provided.

NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute course presented by NVIDIA Ambassador in Latvia Asoc. professor Dr. sc. ing. Arnis Lektauers. The course will cover CUDA basics. Next course will be on November 21 and 28 (8h in total). This course will be provided in Latvian with presentation slides from NVIDIA in English. In order to take part in the course, please register first. Number of participants is limited.
Simulink is a block diagram environment used to design systems with multidomain models, simulate before moving to hardware, and deploy without writing code.

MATLAB organizes seminars and practical workshops between September 9 and 25, 2024 on using MATLAB on HPC. Workshop on RTU HPC will be on September 23 15:00-18:00 EEST.
- September 9 – parallel computing on HPC with MATLAB;
- September 16 – creating end-to-end AI systems with MATLAB;
- September 23 – hands-on practice to use MATLAB on RTU HPC.

A course on introduction to CUDA in English, primarily for participants from Latvia and Poland. Time and date: March 25 and April 1, 15:00-18:00 CET.
A four week course in Latvian covers HPC basics and includes topics, such as HPC in comparison with regular computers, HPC architecture and most popular terms. In addition to this, it covers history of supercomputing, parallel computing basics, as well as some popular success stories in using an HPC.
In collaboration with HPC Competence Center in Poland, on April 23 (9:30-13:30 CET), we offer a course on parallel programming basics. Instructor Jakub Gałecki, University of Warsaw.
