Review of the EuroCC Project Opening Seminar
The opening seminar of EuroCC project was held on 9 October on the Zoom platform. Overall, there were 36 registered participants.
The seminar was introduced by Jānis Paiders from Ministry of Education and Science, who is also a representative of Latvia at EuroHPC. Then Ilmārs Slaidiņš from Riga Technical University (RTU) presented the history of development of EuroHPC and participants of the EuroCC project, while Jānis Virbulis from Institute of Numerical Modelling of the University of Latvia informed about HPC applications and cooperation with industry. The head of the RTU HPC Center, Lauris Cikovskis, told more about supercomputing at RTU and Latvia in general.
At the end of the seminar, an active discussion took place, and experts responded to the questions raised by participants.
