Learn to use GALAXY platform for biomedical data processing

Take part in a free Galaxy online training event – a global Galaxy course on February 15-19.

Galaxy is an internet platform for biomedical data (for example, genome, proteomics) processing. It offers a variety of tools that are easy to use without specific knowledge of Linux command lines and HPC system. Training is offered for beginners, as well as for advanced Galaxy users. The course will take place simultaneously all over the world, during which expert support through Slack channel will be provided. Lectures will be pre-recorded, so everyone will be able to learn the topics at their own pace. Registered users will have remote access to the Galaxy environment.

  • Day 1

Introduction to Galaxy and NGS analysis.

  • Day 2

Introduction to RNA-Seq analysis with Galaxy and R.

  • Day 3

    Single-cell RNA-Seq Analysis.

  • Day 4

    Proteomics.

  • Day 5

    Choose Your Own Adventure!

Work is also underway in Latvia on the implementation of Galaxy platform and tools (within the framework of the VPP Covid-19 project) on RTU HPC computing resources. Currently, the platform is available in test mode (https://galaxy.hpc.rtu.lv), therefore this course is a great opportunity to get acquainted with the Galaxy possibilities and most suitable tools in order to start using them for your research or studies. Please contact RTU HPC center about the access to https://galaxy.hpc.rtu.lv.

If you have any questions, please contact [email protected].

Information support in Latvia is provided by RTU HPC Center and HPC Competence Center project (EuroCC) in Latvia.
